Probably best to google for the user guide for your particular model, and see how to remove the keyboard. Give the contacts a clean, and see if it improves.
You could try booting to safe mode, command prompt, just to see if the keys work there - to eliminate a windows problem.
After that, then maybe a replacement keyboard from Ebay.
By the way, Windows has an on-screen keyboard that you could use for now - bit of a pain, but better than a pinStart > programs > accessories >ease of access

Short term fix:
you can probably get an external keyboard very cheaply that'll allow you to use the machine
From the High Street for immediate use £6.49 will get you a PS2 type keyboard -used to be £5 but I guess pcw got greedy, need to check your laptop has a round PS2 type socket

From the internet they start at £3 and its USB but postage costs will probably come back to wipe out any saving:

Longer term fix:
you should get a replacement keyboard for the laptop and replace it entirely -perhaps £15 for a compatible part from ebay (best place) or £50 for a genuine part from the laptop manufacturer
Removal and replacement of the keyboard on a laptop is very easy to do yourself (requires about 13 screws to be removed from the bottom of the laptop) but you will need to find and download the 'service manual' for it from the internet (so you know which 13 screws to remove and which to leave alone)
a side option is just removing and replacing the existing laptop keyboard to check the data cable underneath it is secure ('probably' not the cause of the problem tho and won't solve it).0 -

I've used this before short term and it can be a lifesaver, good call
you can just type 'osk' into the run box to bring it up too (assuming you can get the 'o', 's' and 'k' keys to work)
