    Philnicandamy, thanks for the reply and the links, very useful, as for the name of the company collecting the money from the Nil Tax, :D You think they would have a better/more officious name than that, at least it made me chuckle.

    it's 'Beever', not beaver.....beavers are something else entirely, not the sort of pet to have if you've got a wooden leg?

    However.......newcomers may have seen strange references in threads, to the moonbeaver....

    this is all part of the BR mystique......which, like the Masons, is steeped in folklore and urban myth.....BR's have a language all to themselves...even other MSE forums are puzzled..

    then there are the secret BR handshakes...and the mystery flashing of the blue electron.....

    you can always tell where a BR lives..it's the house all the Debt collectors studiously avoid.....

    the one that DOESN'T get all that post....ever notice how the postie these days is reduced to stuffing free advertising into one's letterbox....just to show they're still delivering?
