What rights do I have
Hi,
I bought £10.5k worth of car a week ago from a dealer with a 12mth warranty. At the weekend my rear brakes ceized on at the rear.
I phoned my dealer (60 miles away). They were unhelpful and said to use the warranty.
The warranty only covers up to £500.
Should the work cost more than £500 surely I shouldn't have to pay the balance myself. I also had to find the £85 to get it recovered to a dealer closer to home. How can I recoup that?
Basically I'd like to know my rights. It wasn't fit for purpose in my view and in fact dangerous. I notified the dealer 3 days after buying it that there was a rattle noise from the back which seems to have resulted in a break failure.
They told me to book it in at a dealer closer to home to get it diagnosed but unfortunately I didn't get that far.
Any advice, fair trading standards etc etc???
Thanks,
Toddy
