help which laptop will be best

we have a computer 6 years old now and I have been told outdated.I can not get my new sony camera to load up on it . and thing seem to be going wrong with it.
so keeping it short we are giving our daughter this computer in her bedroom .

I am wanting a laptop the 2 I fancy are.

toshiba 60 gb 1024 mb inter celeron m360
or
sony viao 80 gb
512 mb intel pentium m740
I want to go on the internet ,load music maybe get a mp3 player my daughter is nagging for and do my photos.No games
I do not know much about computers very basic so do not blind me with science any advice please.

Either of the two will be fine for these purposes.
It may be worth checking that they both have wireless connectivity if you have a wireless router. If not, and you don't plan to, it doesn't matter.
By the way, if you don't need to take the computer anywhere with you, you get a lot more computer for your money if you buy a desktop. You could get a pc that does everything you need for £300-£400...
