That's nice Snags, I like the nice simple Ikea stuff. Is there a bed in that range?

There is but it's too big - I need one that is under 200cm length and they're all 200cm or more. I've found a few that are 197cm or so, but I don't like them.

I'd really like wood, or plain-ish metal, with a gap underneath because I have some underbed drawers, and I really need them for storage.

There's one in Sleepmasters, which would fit and I like, but the colour is described as honey pine. It looks oak-y coloured in the picture, but 'honey' seems to imply yellowy to me, so I think I need to go and look at it in the store.

  • I have Pax wardrobes. They've been fine although the sliding doors on mine were a pig to fit - no room for proper drawers. I have the Maln drawer unit which match - the now have a wardrobe in that range but didn't then.
Beware Ikea beds - the only place to get linen to fit is Ikea and it washes dreadfully.

Thanks Bookie - the one I'm getting just has normal doors so I'm hoping it wont be too much of a pain. My drawers are Malm too (I think...).

I really really want the shoe holder that you can get as an accessory, but at £30, I might have to ask for it as a Xmas present!

I've already got a mattress, so as long as it will fit on an Ikea frame, I won't need any new bedding, but we've had Ikea bedding before and you're right, it's not very good.

I think Ikea have maybe changed their bed sizes recently.. OH got an Ikea bed (nearly new with an Ikea mattress and chest of drawers off eBay for £55 cos the woman had decided she didn't like it! ) and he just got sheets etc from Argos which fit fine. They can be weird though, I bought a couple of Ikea duvet covers years ago that don't quite fit normal duvets - one is lovely and soft though, but the other one feels really hard and horrible

*resists obvious joke about needing a screw too*

I was just going to order it online so I didn't have to worry about how to carry it home with two kids in tow, but I will do you a deal - if you come to Bunny's, I will nip up there this afternoon, get you some screws, and bring them with me! :D

My bedroom furniture is Ikea too - Hemnes drawers from when they did em in wood finish, rather than the paited finish they do it in now. They're gorgeous and i love em. We have built in wardrobes so didnt need to buy them :D

Want to buy more Hemnes for the kids rooms one day, coz their current furniture is rubbish :o

  • Most of my furniture came from Ikea.
I have a huge tin of spare bits too.
