Thanks for reading I just have a couple of questions.
My husband aged 59 has been placed in the WRG without a medical. We did attend one and before being called someone came out to say they had further evidence from the Dr and, even before that, they had discussed his conditions - the main one being renal failure and he is now on dialysis - and they couldn't understand why he had been called in the first place. Commonsense at last I said. We went away thinking he would be put in the support group but no!
He has aneamia for which he has to take weekly injections and this, together with the renal failure, means that he has chronic fatigue. He is hard of hearing and does have an aid but can't get on with it. He also has diabetes, high blood pressure, chloresterol and just been diagnosed with a skin cancer for which he has an op next week.
So questions
Is it worth him appealing please? I have his medical notes and the decision by a SRN has been based on his renal condition only.
They have said that he will be reviewed in 12 months time.

He could appeal but if he does appeal he would be paid the assessment rate of ESA whilst he was waiting for the appeal to be heard.
It would be best to get professional advice from a Welfare Rights Officer to see if they think it is worth the appeal, these can be found at the CAB, Local Council or disability organisations such as DIAL. What I would say is that very few people are being put in the Support Group.0 -
Renal dialysis would not automatically mean he could not work as many people can and do although with his other complications it may mean he is unable to, which is why he has not been disallowed ESA but rather placed in the WRG
Has his ESA stopped? It would appear not, so unless he or you feel that you cannot work with Pathways for the mandatory interviews for the next year I would leave it, however there is the option of appealing as previously stated.Nothing to see here :beer:0
