Interesting, I would not have used my tumble drier to dry the corn to make cornflakes. Playing around with food in an old shed was not very health and safty. He did not even ware a hair net. That said we did get to see how our breakfasts are made in factory's.
Last time I checked I didn't wear a hairnet at breakfast - and I'm still here:rotfl:0 -
I too watched it last night ,normally Corrie is on but the football was on instead so Jimmy won my viewing. It was interesting to see how stuff iss made but not a lot of real use.I can't see me making coffee or cornflakes but the process was quite enlightening.I can't see this being very gripping unless children wanted to watch, not really a grown-ups programme, perhaps it will improve0

I had this on for a few minutes, and saw Jimmy fishing sweetcorn out of a tumble drier(??), and thought it was a children's show. I might give this another look on iplayer, and I won't get distracted and watch FlashForward on 5od instead!0

To the poster who asked about "unrefined sugar": your sugar is actually made from sugar-cane not from boiled down and messed-about-with sugar-beet.
I found this show pretty interesting but figured the pratting-about in the garage was a device to keep us watching as it certainly didn't add to the point of what the show was discussing. I'll be fascinated to see what he talks about when they do bread-making as there's a whole load of taking-stuff-out-to-only-chuck-back-in-again-afterwards. Not to mention the MASSIVE amount of salt (and water, which is the only reason for using it) added to that factory-produced steam-baked muck.0 -
thanks bitter and twisted, i did wonder. i got the packet out and saw it said 'cane sugar'. so again the programe was extra disapointing for me!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0

I think the title of the show: "Jimmy's food factory" shows what it's all about. Jimmy tries to make processed food in his own backyard factory. Now, whether last night's program met it's aims I'm not sure, he did have a go at making popular breakfast items, but the whole thing smacked of pseudo-science Brainiac style kid's tv to me and I probably won't watch it again.
It's only a game

I enjoyed this program, but then I love these sort of programs "how it works" etc. Sat and watched it with my 11 yr old who was fascinated.
