technophobe needs help!

I am a newbie to computer as well as to this site. I have a very technical son but when I ask him how to do anything he just does it for me. I would like to know how to put links on and how to cut and paste eg to get a good joke off funny jokes site to send to friends. I am a silver surfer so make it simple please, and not too much information at once or brain shuts down. Thanks in anticipation.

You mean you wish to put a link on what?

If here or mostly anywhere just go to a website of your choice and where you see the websites address in the address bar (at the top) just right click the mouse where the address is and choose copy, then whilst making a post just right click the mouse where you wish to have the link and click paste.
