Credit card charges

I had 3 credit cards and i defaulted on all three 2 of the cards i paid off but the 3rd one had a limit of £250 they are now chasing me for a debt of nearly £1400 all this is charges is there anything i can do to get the charges back? My other problem is i have no paperwork with regards to any of my old credit card accounts as my ex never allowed me them when i left.I would also like to claim back the charges from the other two cards can anyone please help me i dnt know where to start.One of the cards is Asssociates has anyone ever heard of them coz i cant find them.
