oneeye1. i have lived in my current house for almost 30 year. around 20 year ago we developed damp on one wall in the house. we had the same man to do a damp course for us then that has given us a recent quote for the house we are wanting to buy now. my house has had had no more probs since i had the wall damp proofed.he definetley is a reputable firm and has been for many years.he is also registered in the line of work he does. i appreciate what you are saying about damp and further probs, but its best for anyone to get an expert opinion in person and a full survey done.0

You really need to see how bad the damp is as I said nobody can make an assesment over the internet, i would go back to the surveyor and ask what eveidence of damp he found. The cause is equally as important if not more so than the extent.0

sorry oneeye1 i dont understand your reply. you obviously have more experience in your line of work than i have, i was just trying to explain my experiences of damp proofing and chappers has hit the nail on the head with his advice. notsogeordie i personally would have a damp survey done to determine if damp is present and if it is renegotiate the price. good luck0
