143 years to 14! My DMP

All journeys start with one step, as the saying goes...
When I first started my DMP, it was going to take me 143 years to pay off :eek: ...obviously NOT an acceptable situation:o

I've finally become registered to be a child minder and have been able to increase my payments 100% in 2 months and now, it'll only take me 14 years!:D AND I will hopefully be able to increase my payments AGAIN in a few months, taking it down to 7 years.:T

I must say, for the first time in my adult life, I feel in control of money and see a light at the end of the tunnel (and it's not a train!)

I wouldn't have been able to do it without the support of everyone on these boards.

its the best feeling isnt it........mine was 18 years on a dmp and i thought that was bad after coming on this site i realised that i could easily afford £10 more a month so i increased it and it knocked 3 and a half years of....great, so hoping in a few months time to add another £10 too..........well done to you and good luck with the childminding

Well done, its scary isnt it, I was told...40 years!I would be 65!!!!!!!!!
BUT! im not going to be the same position for too long, once I can increase the payments to what I want it should be 6 years... a great aim dont you think :beer:

My first dfd with cccs in feb was 2037 but I've since had 2 more reviews & increased payments to them & with the savings I'm putting away also my dfd is now feb 2009

All thanks to following the great advice on MSE!
