Hi Janice,

I have moved your thread over to the food shopping and groceries board to see if you can get more replies. This previous thread may help too:

What sausages do you buy ?

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

Am I the only one that's been tickled by the title of this thread? From the title I thought you were in mortal danger...:D
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?
• We also like the finest Sainsburys and Tescos but I often buy them in the reduced (going out of date) section and freeze them

I know it sounds daft but I like Morrison's standard pork sausages, onlyl 60% meat but they're very tasty. They regularly have them on half price at 50p for 8!

Tesco's Butcher's Choice range are just about as good as these. They come in the waxy paper rather than trays.

Seconded, but with both Tesco and Sainsbury's. The range is in between "Own Brand" and "Finest/Taste the Difference", and they easily rival finest sausages. Normally £2 each I think, wait for the 2 packs for £3.50 offer (8 per pack). Also try the half fat ones in that range - they sometimes taste better than the regular ones (although you have to delink them yourself).

Sainsbury's had them on a 99p each earlier this year! Froze about 6 packs :p

Also do try Sainsbury's own brand, something around the £1.30 mark I think. For me they were okay, but it had a taste I reckon most people would find quite good.
• we only buy british free range or organic sausages and tend to buy them from marks and spencer as 2 packs for £4 which is often cheaper than tescos at 2 for £4.50.

the pork free range ones contain 98% pork in sainsburys and these are also 2 for £4.

we buy our organic sausages from abel and cole but they are £4.10 a pack but have been on offer for 2 for £6.50.

Asda have Extra Special sausages in the freezer section which are good - not sure if Sainsbury or Tesco do the same?
