Question about warranty

Hi
Hope someone can advise me on this. I got a Nintendo Wii over a year ago now but just before the warranty expired, it had a fault, would switch on but wouldnt start up. Cut a long story short, the shop I bought it from FINALLY ended up giving me a replacement unit after sending it off for a 'repair', (even though it took 3 months) and the same thing has happened now to the replacement unit after only having it for 3 months. Does anyone know if I get another 12 months warranty on the replaced unit or not as the shop I bought it from that I have taken it back to for a 2nd time say that the warranty is not valid on replacement units (even though its brand new and only 3 months old and has developed the exact same fault). Are they right?
Many thanks in advance
