if is it popular you may have trouble getting a registrar so that should be your first call tomorrow
p.s. don't forget to add in your budget the extra cost of not getting married in the registry office - It'll be £200-£400 pounds more dependant on county coucilHad a thrifty wedding 17-06-10

Thank you for your kind words, Mazzarati2000 and Svjenni.
I went to the registry office this morning to see if they did bank holidays... and they do!
I asked if they could pencil us in, but the lady said we'd have to properly book it, so I said I better ask OH first!
I emailed him after I rushed into work and got him to call and book up, but he was told that you have to give notice to marry (£30 each) in order to book, then pay the £365 6 weeks before the big (or in our case 'small') day.
Can I go in tomorrow and give notice for both of us, or does he have to do it in person (9:30-4:30 weekdays doesn't help if you work)? Do I have to take ID with me? Like passport, birth certificate (deed-pole change for OH) etc.
Next will be confirming Easter Monday at the Manor.
It all seems a bit too real!
And the flowers and cake thoughts have really helped - you have no idea!
I'm turning into a Bridezilla already! I didn't want anything too fancy, but I've fallen in love with this cake. I'm sure when I ask how much I'll turn back to reality though!0 -
If I were you I would provisionally book your venue first, then once that date is held for you, ring the registry office to make appointment for both of you to give notice.
You both have to go together to give notice as you will both be asked separately a serious of questions about each other. You both have to take proof of ID, we took driving licences, a utility bill in each our names and our passports.
I wouldn't give notice, then book the venue, incase the venue get a booking in the meantime.
Same as I wouldn't book the venue properly until you have given notice and got your date (and time!) for definite.
Main thing is to get either one held provisionally till you sort the other out properly.
We had our venue hold our date provisionally then we both made an appointment to give notice. Waiting for the appointment we booked the venue and paid our deposit, then we gave notice and paid the £60 for that!
I promise it sounds more complicated that it is lol x
P.S. That cake is stunning!! I'm not really fussed on the heart shaped ones but that is so lovely with the detail on it!!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
