Hi,
We have just moved to a new property and find that we have a card meter for gas and a key meter for electric , I think they are both british gas meters although the electric one may be scottish power , i am waiting on confirmation.
We have always paid our gas and electric bills by standing order and have always shopped around and changed to the best deals as shown on this site.
My question ! By having these meters does this mean that I have no choice and cannot change providers ? and Am I paying extra for being on a meter ?
I have tried a search but haven't really found what I am looking for.

Many thanks for any advice.

Andy.

Yes you can change providers. The new provider will just send you their card for the meter.

Check your suppliers website for prepayment tariffs
    Alternatively,try u-switch for comparisons.

Prices for prepayment and credit are slowly equalising ..
