Probably a written report from a nobel laureat certifying that the kit failed due to a failure of the surge protector countersigned by the Archduke Ferdinand of Austria.0

Thanks for all the answers, I'll borrow another PSU and test it with that. Hopefully nothing inside has blown along with it. The surge protector is a couple of years old and I don't know the brand or remember where I got it from now. My PSU was a Hiper and only a couple of years old so I'll check to find out if it's still under warranty.0

By chance, I've just had one drop through the door. The blurb that comes with it says this : blah, etc
Hmmmmmm......so it is possible so long as you have the original receipt or proof of purchase of the surge protector, are not a business user, it is not secondhand equipment and the problem is due to a power surge/lightning.........is it that easy :rolleyes:0
