Have got a babysitter sorted, am ready to go and search some more shops today. Not sure quite where to start though? I'm sure the babysitter thinks I am mad though, she doesn't understand why she is having my kids whilst I go on a hamster hunt!

Well it seems that many places MAY be getting stock in this week (albeit a smaller amount than they wanted). Here’s some of the websites we have got stock from over the last few weeks which you might want to keep an eye on. Obviously not all will get more stock in but its worth keep checking as some say they are not getting any more stock, then all of a sudden, something is available.

So even if there is nothing in stock now, ‘favourite’ all these links so you can regularly check yourself. Always read the small print before buying anything – is it really in stock? does it say due in *** weeks?, is it a hamster, playset, carrier or bed, where you could get sent any from the range – i.e. is the picture just an example of the product and does it say ‘colours may vary’, or something along those lines or you can’t choose which hamster or playset (ball, surfboard, skateboard) that they send you. Check the P&P as this varies – some offer free post over a certain amount and some offer free delivery to your local store such as John Lewis and Wilkinsons.

If they get more stock and you see a picture of the ball and it shows as in stock, read the small print before buying, you are not ordering the ball, you are ordering one of the playsets and this could be the ball, surfboard or skateboard – you cannot choose which one and there is no point in ringing up because they can’t put down your preference.

Definitely getting hamsters and playsets (surfboard, skateboard, ball) in yesterday. Available in some stores only. Usually only hamsters available online. Hamsters were on line yesterday so not sure if they will list online again or not. Def in some stores now.

Listing playsets and houses I think from the delivery expected which will have arrived by now (or should have). Expecting them to list at sometime today and possibly tomorrow as well - they might be stringing the stock out. Accessories (beds / carriers due in 18 December but could be a little earlier than this and hamsters on other days = See previous posts on Sunday and today by LIZDAV for info).

Everything ‘at a price’. Read the descriptions very carefully to double check whether the items you are ordering are actually in stock. Check the RRP on the toysrus website before deciding whether you want to pay these prices. However, if you think about it, if you ordered these items online, you may well have paid around £4 to £5 P&P, and there is the personal cost: how much time (think of being paid at the minimum wage for each hour you've spent on this quest) and effort you have you spent trying to locate the item including parking costs and petrol - not to mention the stress of it all. You may find its actually cheaper just to get one off these sites. Play list their own stock at RRP but have 3rd party playtrade people listing their stock too - hence things coming and going on the site throughout the day at high prices.

High street shops

Forum users have mentioned getting things in store at SOME branches (not all stock go go hamster items) of: Toymaster shops, local small toy shops like Smyths, Boots, Wilkinsons, Makro, Sainsburys, Tescos, Asda, TJ Hughes, John Lewis, Hamleys and Harrods. And of course, toysrus and argos.

Tips:

Best thing to do is go onto all the usual suspect sites, for example, character-online, hoorayfortoys, boots, cmgiftsandcollectables, toysrus and register with them. Then if anything gets listed, you can log in quickly and your address details will already be there, and you'll save time and reduce the risk of your basket emptying whilst you are madly trying to type your details in. If you have pre-warning that something is going to be listed at a particular time, go onto the site beforehand and log in, then just keep refreshing until the item appears then grab it. If when you look at your basket, there is only one item and you ordered 2, don't waste time going back to try and add another as the likelihood is that there is only one in there because there is no longer 2 left. If you don't check out then, then that will also disappear... Also, take note of any things in the description that say, for example, only 2 per order, as if you try to add more and think you've got away with it, your order will be cancelled.

Oh, and also www.character-online.com is the importer /distributor of the go go products for the UK so if they get an order in, then an allocation of the same items may also go to some of the shops online and in the high street (shortly after character get the stock) if they have made orders. So inline with this stock has started appearing online and in the shops - some of the online toy shops have said from wednesday onwards. Although Character said that they weren't expecting any add ons (slide, wheel, car) to list on their website, there may be shops that have ordered these items from them so there could still be add ons appearing both online and in the stores.

Oh, and if anyone wants any further information about dates, times, stock etc etc in any of these online and normal stores, then the best thing to do is go onto their website and get their telephone number and ring them up yourself, then you get the info direct from source - that's how I got all my info over the last few weeks...

And another thought, play.com didn't list the skateboards, balls, or houses last week, but they did list everything else - not from their resellers, but from them. Ok, so most ended up being as 'on order' but they are expecting stock in, in around 3 weeks so they wouldn't have taken the orders if they didn't think they would have enough stock in. They tend to list from mid morning onwards.

ok quick question im logged on to character and have the list of gogos up but theres only indication of stock when you click on the single items question is how do i know which item to click on when the stock comes in? or is there a way i can see the stock status on all of them on the same page?
