    Hi
I would like to make all you ladies aware of a company that i feel properly concerned about.
I bought some go go stuff from HOORAY FOR TOYS on tuesday night , i bought 2 houses, 4 hamsters and some beds and carriers for my FOUR DAUGHTERS . I went into check my order status yesterday afternoon only to find it had been cancelled .I rang the company and spk to women who asked me my name and without looking at order said straight away yes i cancelled it and sent you a email last night ( wed n ight ) ,when i advised i hadnt got the email and asked her the reason why she cancelled she said really rudely , the reasons are in the email check your spam, so i said ive checked the spam and its not there , she then said im terminating this call im not being spken to lke this, when all i had done was ask why order had been cancelled .
After much trying to call back for over a hour and no answer on the phone i decdied to call today.I have checked my bank only to find she took money for order YESTERDAY , when she said she cancelled it the night BEFORE....I am very worried there is no answer on the phone and no email adviseing why cancelled , and no refund.
This is extremly worrying and confusing .I see she has put a note on web saying rude customers etc and only 2 per item, well i wasnt rude and have 4 girls all of which want go gos .There was nt any restrictions on the site when i ordered and i paid the rrp price .

This is DISGUSTING SERVICE [TEXT DELETED].
They should of not takem my money and especially if she said she cancelled the night before .[TEXT DELETED], now not answering the phone all day and from half 4 yesterday .

Thought i would let you all know ..[TEXT DELETED]

I have now had to resort to doing a charge back on my card.

It is a shame you had your order cancelled, but they have been restricting items to stop people cashing in on ebay. I've heard nothing but good things about Hooray. Sorry if you have been unlucky, you obviously are genuine and wanted them for your kids.

Yes i understand that but why did she say she cancelled the order the nigth before and took the money the following day ?

momoffour this might help, when you purchase items by card the authorisation for the transaction is dialled through to the centre who deals with your account, they are given authorisation and the funds are 'earmarked' on your account, this means they are reserved pending a claim from the seller which is usually via their card terminal, this usually means they actually get given your money approx 3-5 days after your purchase, unless the transaction is reversed quickly this payment cannot be stopped so the seller has no option other than to refund your payment, which then takes up to 5 days to come back to you. It is inconvenient as it leaves you with money marked or taken from your account. If funds are earmarked and then not claimed this can actually take approx 10 days to drop off as unclaimed by the seller.

My guess is that the sale went through, then they cancelled the order but the payment was still processing hence it seems like your money was taken the following day but it has actually gone through the standard process for any sale, its not that she has charged you since canceling your order its just how it seems if you are not aware of the way the banking system works for stores.
  • Hi, I was just about to buy a charger and some rechargable batteries... checked the hamster's box to see what batteries they take and found a warning on there telling you not to use rechargable batteries. Does anyone know why this would be so or what would happen if you were to use rechargables?

    TIA

sorry i've got to rant... i'm fuming!
went to Toys R Us earlier; which I've been doing on a daily basis since the beginning of my hamster hunt so about 2 weeks now; only twice of those times have I managed to find stock and buy something (once was Chunk & a Garage; and the other time was 3 beds in diff. colours & 3 carriers in diff colours) I keep seeing the same manager so I keep asking him (or custom services) about expected deliveries (I must be !!!!ing him off I guess?) as today while I was at customer services asking as usual if they knew of any deliveries that manager came over and said "Go Go Hamsters? Well you're not getting any anyway!" hmm !!!!!!? I was like "huh?" and was told that "I'm buying too many and therefore selling them on Ebay" and again "huh???" explained exactly what I'd bought from them and that those are for my kids and not ebay! i mean !!!!!! I've been struggling enough just to find stuff for my kids and still am struggling as missing loads; anyway, he still said I wasn't going to be allowed to buy any?! What?!! I'm sooo going to write a big complaint to the Head Office as soon as I find there details; I'm sooooo annoyed at them; been wasting my time there every bloody day in hope to buy from them and get rewarded by being black listed !!!!!!  I can't believe they can make such false accusations; is there anything you guys can think of that I can do apart from writing to the Head Office? Should I show up there with my kids and their birth certificates or something :S grrrrr

We went there last night and they had nothing and had no idea if they would get anything. Place was staffed by kids

This is interesting.. in a hamster kind of way you understand. I have noticed these warnings before (i think the wii remotes?) . If you or a friend are Costco members, they do good deals on bulk buys of duracell batteries and I think there is a voucher running this month for an extra 30% off.
