Can't speak for others, but my stock checker is looking at the past individual product pages ... if you are searching for ALL hamster stock, then maybe depending upon what they do, they can hide products.

I signed up to character online for the alerts, they check all the sites like play/john lewis/asda/etc etc and send me an email when somethings in stock. Its worked for every item ive got so far (except the hamster which i got from ebay)

That's good, I clicked on to send me in stock e mails and never received a thing...on each occassion stuff has been listed.

I have never had a single email from any store and they've had stock in. Actually I'm a bit confused what you mean - you signed up with Character and they tell you when Asda has something in stock?? Is that right?

There should no false positives .. that is theoretically impossible.

As I say, I check the individual product pages, not the 'search for hamsters' pages and I added the Harrods funhouse to basket and went to checkout all intact .. though I didn't complete as I didn't need.

But... it is very curious.
