Maximouse, I am dedicated internet shopper for my friends and family, I think people think sitting on the internet fighting for things is easy work, I have had a few days off hamsters, but I think I'll be getting asked for my services again soon as some of my family still don't realise how hard this stuff is to find.

Yes, me too, if anyone wants to find something or to order something or even book tickets and things, i'm the mug that ends up doing it in-between trying to work. However, I've never been asked on this scale before and 'some' people who just put a question on here without thinking to look back at previous posts or make any effort themselves to search for the info or stock - both in the shops or online, have no idea how many hours and hours and hours of searching day and night, that this hunt has involved for a lot of really nice people that regularly voluntarily contribute to this forum. Or may be they do, and just want the answer without the effort. The sad thing is that when we do bother to answer some people's queries they don't even click on the button to say thanks and they also don't post any stock info to the forum themselves. It should be share and share alike but obviously some, those who just ask a question then lurk the rest of the time, are probably just after grabbing stock and wouldn't dream of telling anyone else where it was. Sorry, I'm on my high horse today...due to only having 3 - 4 hours sleep at night for the last few weeks of this hunt. I've now lost a stone and a half through not stopping to eat - on the plus side, I will look good for Christmas though:rotfl:

MIL just rang to ask had I seen the cute hamster advert on TV last night and would the girls like one? ROFL.
I explannied how hard to get they are and let her know which ones I have got and what we are still looking for, so got an extra pair of eyes on the job.

Just wondering abour Characters delivery dates, will items expected on 18th Dec really get here for christmas day?

    ali x

Yes they would but I'm not sure I'd want to risk the possibility they get the delivery as expected. If it arrives then there is no reason why a courier would not get it delivered in time.

The problem is and I think lizdav mentioned earlier that character are THE supplier to all stores, they order their manufacture and shipment from china, this takes up to 6 months from ordering to receiving if shipped by the standard method by sea. Obviously this means they have to place their orders way in advance if something then become number 1 xmas present it makes it hard for companies to get the orders. If they ship by air which sounds like they intend to do it will speed up the delivery but not the manufacture, also depends on the stock level they ship, air would be more expensive so may limit the shipment levels making the stock scarce when it does arrive.
  • It only shows out of stock when you go through the checkout process
  • Play.com have 3 of the hamsters in stock (all but Pipsqueak) and say "Usually dispatched within 1-2 weeks" I've ordered a Squiggles; fingers crossed!
