how strange the wheel and slide have been removed from the list?

Not that strange. There is no distribution stock guaranteed of car, wheel and slide until 2010 now.

As I've already posted today, for those that have ordered from play.com, if you look at the order status in your account - processing means it was in stock, you got it, and it will be coming your way. Order taken means it ran out of stock and they will send when they get it - Oh, and they only take the money off your card once the order is processed and dispatched. Best thing to do is keep looking for whatever you have ordered and if you manage to get it, just go back into your account and cancel the order. I ordered a skateboard a couple of months ago and cancelled it after around 4 weeks I think as it was still on order. However, some held out longer and did eventually get their items. So its a case of how long you want to risk waiting.

I'm going shopping later so will have a look around but not holding out much hope. I rang a local toyshop (can't remember if it's toymaster or lambs toys as it's inside a department store) and they are expecting go go stuff in at some point, but she couldn't say when as they've been on order for months.

Just about sums up what I said in my post yesterday about the stock in the NE - obviously the big shops don't think we'd buy anything other than hamsters

    Some news from Character.

It was you folks trying to get in early that caused the problems yesterday with the constant F5s. The effect of that is to effectively load the server to seem like it is supporting 10s x the number of Actual visitors on site and it buckled.

The F5s actually got in the way of them trying to add the stock and run the stock updater (which is apparently a fairly hungry activity on the server).

As a consequence I will not be able to post listing times any more.

    Sorry....

I'm in Wales, yesterday I went to our local Tesco extra, Sainsburys, Wilkos, Asda, & Boots, none even stock them despite having other toys. Go Go hamsters were said to be in the top 10 toys for Christmas weeks ago, you would think they would get them into all their stores

With the sheer volume of hamsters on ebay, I wonder if it will bring the prices down in a couple of weeks?
  • Thanks so much for the Play.com heads up - I have just remembered my password and username as haven't been here for a while. I have checked and my order says "Processing". Now i need the slide. Over here on the Isle of Wight it will be virtually impossible to get in store so i may have to go to ebay. That's where i got the hamsters in the end - slightly more than RRP but needed!!! Let's hope they turn up now!

Thanks again - good work ladies.
Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):
    2 x Num Nums - £36.70, 1 x Chunk £13.50, 1 x Chunk £15.50, Slide £26.89, House £25.94, Car £14.99, Ball £9.99, Surfboard £9.99, Skateboard £9.99, Wheel £24.19 TOTAL:£187.68

A big thanks to you MSE'ers - especially Maximouse :A
