Well done you in your research. I think you will get several hundred if not thousand people from this forum willing to give you a reference praising your analytical skills!

That information is handy because it does give us an idea of whether to hold out to buy on ebay or try elsewhere. I think we will see a drop in ebay prices for a short while but I nearer to christmas when last minute shoppers decide they want them, we will see an increase. Just my theory!

    Thanks :)

I've definitely noticed a decline in Ebay sales. Gone are the ridiculous over RRP sales. I watched an auction for all 4 hamsters end at £56 - so each hamster was only £4 above RRP which is what places like Sainsbury's were asking anyway!
I think, in light of the current low (by comparison to last week) prices, it may well be worth looking on Ebay for some bits if you still need them. Just be strict about your maximum budget. . . because with the decline in price, there will very soon come an increased demand. And, we all know what that means!!

I've been watching the Ebay sales of Go Go stock for the last couple of days, just out of morbid curiosity really, and I have observed the following things :

    1. Hamsters are now only selling at an average of £6 above RRP - which means if the seller had to pay postage from TRU etc, then they have barely made a profit. (I came to this rather scientific conclusion by monitoring 53 hamster sales, and working out the average price which was £16)

    2. Houses are selling for an average of £28 - which is indeed £8 above the RRP but I myself bought one from Hooray and when taking postage into account I paid almost £26.

    3. Chunk is seriously underloved, averaging only £13

    4. The most sought after item is still the ball, averaging £11 above RRP

    5. I really need a bloody job.

Awwww! Chunk is my favourite. He's so cute!

I wonder why people don't want him? Maybe because of his name (Chunk/Chuck confusion)?

I think it's because he is white! No I'm not rascist! ;) I think a lot of parents worry that he will become dirty easily. I thought that originally but now chunk is definately my favourite as he has a certain je ne sai quoi about him!
Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.
  • That's men for you! Now if you can just get him to put his socks in the laundry basket and put the loo seat down and he'll be perfect! ;)

    Haha so true!!! :T

Can I ask a question, if you get the house in Argos and it says the hamsters are half price with a house, is that still the case and if so how do you get them as site wouldnt let you reserve a hamster.

    Thanks

I'm inclined to agree with funny.onion and say it's due to him being the easiest to get dirty. Kids are messy creatures :rotfl:

There's no picture but we worked out (I think?) that this is a random set of either car with a hammy or surfboard with a hammy but you can't choose which.

    http://www.elcorteingles.es/tienda/juguetes/browse/productDetailCultural.jsp?productId=A229353&categoryId=999.390&isProduct=true&elementoId=&navAction=jump&navCount=0&groupName=&DPSLogout=true&_requestid=238170

Postage was 10 euros, but I suppose you could order more than one for the same postage, if you would be able to resell if they sent you 2 of the same thing. I don't know if patch was included or just a random hammy.

27 euros would be more than £20 I suppose, but worth it if you want what they send you, and you don't already have enough hammies.

thanks so much for this, i have 2 items in my trolly and i am trying to pay for them but when i go continue the page crashes, do you have any more advise for me? if this goes through i will be so pleased!!!!!!
got all my hammy stuff, yay! thankyou all for your help. have a great christmas:D

was too tempted by the cute hammies and got jilly, scoodles and winkie, total spend £179:eek:

Yeah.. I'm a little worried he'll look grubby - but he's just adorable.
My daughter's not too keen on Mr S. I agree. He looks kinda boring.

Rolf! thanks for giving me a chuckle along the way of this demented searching...

From watching ebay A LOT today i have concluded that a car and/or a ball are not happening for less than £35 each. Just can't bring myself to be ripped off to that extent....

Good question. In most stores they usually have a stand with the managers name on it so when you go make sure you have his name at the ready as they should honour the sale of the house and you get a half price hamster.

If they do their stock control properly they must keep back one hamster per item of houses they hold in stock until all the houses are sold and then the hamsters should be released back into stock.

Oh I see, thank you for that, its a minefield this hamster lark isnt it????
You watch, they will all be in the bargain buckets in the sales come January!!!!
