  • Do I actually need to buy the house and add-ons?
I mean.. will the little critters work and be play-able without the playsets?

I was considering constructing some runs for the hamsters with my daughter after Christmas and just playing with them out on the carpet until then.

You don't need the house and all the other bits - the hamsters will work without them - depends whether you get drawn into the addiction. I was only gonna get 2 hamsters - now you can see by my signature what i have ended up with!!

    Good luck
Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):
    2 x Num Nums - £36.70, 1 x Chunk £13.50, 1 x Chunk £15.50, Slide £26.89, House £25.94, Car £14.99, Ball £9.99, Surfboard £9.99, Skateboard £9.99, Wheel £24.19 TOTAL:£187.68

A big thanks to you MSE'ers - especially Maximouse :A

they will just run on carpet. a good idea that my parents used to do when i was little when things didn't arrive in time for xmas was they would have a little bell(from a xmas decoration) and ring it when we were in another room...then they would say something along the lines of " you completely missed him, santa just stopped by because he forgot to leave this!" would work a treat!
    children wetting the bed?

    electric blanket...they'll soon learn ;)

Well my Chunk just arrived from Asda, was well packaged in a box but when I got the little box out I heard a rattling sound which is never a good sign, and on closer inspection the two little white things either side of the wheel are both broken off and in the box, I am assuming that it is these that keeps them on the track and in the ball etc so looks like I will have to get a refund and be chunk-less again!

DON'T PANIC - we went through all this a few weeks ago when MOOKIE had the same problem. After the whole world spent 10 mins looking up their hamsters backsides (including me!), MOOKIE's hubby read the instructions and realised that they were the bits the secure the hamster to the box and are meant to snap off...
:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:
