good luck! know how you feel - i did that journey 2 nights ago to tesco...was peeking in all the big cages of boxes to see if i could see word character - but none came in....can't believe what these hamsters have got us relatively sane people doing......won't be long before we get the first fight and arrest over a ball!!!????

Although saying that.... once you get the hamster it, you wont be able to get it back tied in again.... i had to sort of tie it over the top and to the box.... no way could i get the ties back like they were (but my little one is too young to noticed ive played )

It's called a stabiliser and it clips on to the front of the hamster, but it drops off as soon as you put it in the ball! The hamster doesn't tip over without it though - apart from Chunk apparently!!

As someone who has been a member of MSE for some time now and as nice as it is to have so many new members due to this thread I dont like being told to be quiet. This is a free forum so everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Lol, She's already out of the box, I couldn't resist. She was delivered to work weeks ago and we've all been playing with her! In fact, I think I need to get hold of another one as some of my colleagues seem to have adopted her as the office pet! She'll just go in DD's Stocking, saves lots of frantic fiddling on Xmas morning!!

The plastic dome the same style as the ball, its the kind of plastic that has a bit of flex to it, not the type that cracks/shatters with a teeny bit of pressure. I think the surfboard looks rubbish I only bought it for the sleepdome add on but I think it is nice and the youtube clip shows the hamster go in and then flip itself round, it looks ok to me.

raaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! got there, all stock on shop floor, asked the SA and she said No stock!!! Spotted a box with Character on it, but she said it was over stock from last night and not hamsters, she wouldn't scan the barcode on the shelf to see if they have had a delivery either, guess who is going back in a hour or so.....

I wouldn't worry to much about this (yet!). I bought from boots on Wednesday lunchtime and it took 36 hours for the money to show as charged (9.30 Thursday night)
