Please nobody take this the wrong way but do our kids really need complete sets? Mine will get one hammy and one accessory if I can find them (or the spanish set if it comes, with patches swapped for squiggles hopefully). They wouldn't expect the whole set and I couldn't afford it anyhow.

For people who have only got a few things - isn't it enough?

I had 2 hammies (I have a 7yr old and a 3.5yr old - both boys) but I bought 2 last night so now have 2 Num Nums and 2 Chunks - they will have one of each. Then i have the house, and the car, plus the slide and the ball. I figure this should be enough to keep them happy but i would still like a couple more add ons - although i am not paying over RRP for them and if it has to wait til new year then so be it. I guess i would like the wheel and the surfboard/sleepdome and it just gives the boys more options when they play together and less risk of arguments!!

BUT If i was limited on cash then i would have settled for the house and 2 add ons plus only 2 hammies.
Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):
    2 x Num Nums - £36.70, 1 x Chunk £13.50, 1 x Chunk £15.50, Slide £26.89, House £25.94, Car £14.99, Ball £9.99, Surfboard £9.99, Skateboard £9.99, Wheel £24.19 TOTAL:£187.68

I was just thinking about this myself - i've nearly got the whole set now - but thought should i have waited and let the kids add to the collection with that inevitable Christmas money they always get!? Too late now but its a lot to fork out for the whole lot. (hope this doesn't make me sound like a tightwad!)

I thought the same The Happy Shopper however I kind of felt that without the other bits the house was a little redundant.
  • Has anyone got any other status from play re the wheel yesterday. Mine is now 'awaiting stock'.

I agree - and then i thought well I can't just have one part cause the boys will argue so I'll get 2 add ons. So I got the car which my youngest wanted and then i got the slide because the ball was hard to find. My eldest really wanted the ball so couldn't turn it down when i found it (although i might get 2 now due to MOExpress messing up!). If i get anything else it will be just because i stumble across it at RRP....

  • I had intended to only get 1 hamster each (2 girls, age 4 and 5) and 1 accessory each. Really I have stuck to it, except they now have a bed each as well as 2 hamsters each. House and car and garage should keep them going until after christmas, but if i can find the others at RRP or close enough, then i would be silly not to!

At one point yesterday I was so fed up, had contemplated selling the lot on ebay, but then decided I am much too addicted! Even now, although I have all that I really want, I am still searching!!! Ive gone MAD for these damn vermin!!!

  • I have the full set of hamsters, plus 2 spares, but my daughter is only actually talking about mr squiggles n numnum. they were my spares, but I am now letting her have them and getting rid of the full set. she doesn't need all 4.
i have the house, the wheel and the car, a bed, a carrier, plus a carrier I have made myself, other than that, I would like to get her a ball, but if not, no biggie.

  • I have just had an EBAY message from the seller I bought Pipsqueak from (I got it for £9.50) saying she will post it first thing Monday morning. So looking good.

Just waiting on a message from the seller for Num Num which I also bought last night for about £10 on Ebay.
