Did I not read somewhere among all these posts that argos were getting 200 thousand hamsters in on the 6th December, will they not be getting accessories as well, anyone have any further info.
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously there is talk that they will be getting 'some' in different areas before Christmas. Some areas as late as the week before!!!

I have checked in my local asda (Rawtenstall) and none there , they did have some in our two local Tesco and they had a shelf for them in the Burnley one , which was empty on Wednesday.
really? i have never seen any space for them at burnley asda and i'm there 3 times a week, yes they stock them at burnley tesco's as ive bought a couple of hammies from there last week. i mite have around all the nearby asda's n tesco's then on monday, you never know i might have a bit of luck haha

Can I get this straight then..... likelihood is that we WONT get accessories AT ALL at RRP before christmas?!

If this IS the case, sorry, but I will have to get the one accessory set I require (to make it fair for my girls) from Ebay. It really annoys me, but I cant have 2 hamsters and 1 house...... imagine the carnage!!!

If I can get some clarification, I will stop wasting time here, and go to ebay!

Thank you Pebbles, just showed this to hubby and he has bought the slide for me from ebay (He is so fed up with me constantly at the computer) . I am all done now, the girls have enough, they each have a hammie and can share the house, ball and slide. I know I shouldn't have resorted to ebay but I don't think there is any point to the house without an assessory to go with it.

I genuinely believe everyone is going to have to go to ebay if they want stuff for christmas and the prices are only going to rocket.
If you want to be rich, never, ever have kids ;)
  • Think i may have to stop my Hamster Hunt on a temporay basis as now i need to go on another H Hunt........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

An 'all-else-fails' tip: there's a hamster set (what looks like half the house plus wheel and slide, maybe a hamster too, no accessories?) for Euro 40 on elcorteingles[dot]es - and I think they ship to UK for Euro 10. I haven't tried it, so can't confirm it works - and I don't work for them, honest! Just a thought...
this is the set i purchased from spain for £60 thats with p+p

Some add ons as lizdav mentioned are available, character have not listed all their stock yet, but once listed the site crashes and its difficult to get an order through, its slow, things sell out of your basket, the payment screen crashes etc, its a case of fastest finger and lots of patience. Obviously you have to be online ready when the stuff gets listed which is difficult as character will not give details now of listing times.

So yes there is a chance you can get some at rrp, you could even be lucky and walk into tesco and there is something just sitting there waiting for you to buy.

Its a gamble, if you wait ebay prices will rise, but if you buy at higher and then see them at rrp in a few days you'll be annoyed. Although the amount of effort you will put in finding what you want it might be easier just to pay more, sit back and relax. ;) You are in a situation where waiting until new year isn't an option as you have 2 kids both of an age where it will cause upset. Good luck.

edit: Just read you got one off ebay, took me a while to reply as little un wanted a drink.
  • My brother is an area manager for Argos and has not been able to track a single go go item down for me in the whole of the country.... so much for 'its not what you know, its who you know.......'
A small Thank You can make a BIG difference ;)

Sorry meant shelf on Tesco , i had to go to TRU in Manchester to get my hamsters.
When i saw them in my local Tesco two weeks ago , my daughter hadn't asked for them  , she decided to wait until you couldn't get them

I thought it might have been. Not sure this one includes Patches and the carrier - photo's not clear. Someone just mentioned that the Spanish may not be all that speedy delivery wise...
