    Hi everyone,

I have really been enjoying getting into the spirit of hamster hunting with you all - I've been lurking for a while! Unfortunately I have twins and would need 2 of everything so limits of one are not helping my search! I don't even know if my kids want one! This is definitely a replay of Biscuit last year, and they've played with that all of 6 times. Anyway, I have nothing at all at the moment.

I've been on Ebay - are they really allowed to charge postage of £22.50 on a £3.00 hamster? What a con!

ebay are supposed to check for things like that as the seller is clearly attempting to avoid paying ebay fees. if anyone sees listings like that, they should report them to ebay- they's probably remove them.
shame you need two of everything with the new limits imposed- maybe a family member could help you out and order things to their address?
hope you find what you want

They are selling the £9.99 hamster for £25.50. The higher the starting price, the more you pay in fees. so its just a way of fee dodging. Report the seller and the listing will be removed. Pure Fee Avoidence. Very naughty!!

The emails were sent on thursday as thats when he said he would post my item

is he posting them by first or second class? this is an issue that puts me off wanting to trade or buy from here or the ebay group. even if you send money by paypal, paypal will only protect your purchase from issues like the item not being received if the transaction has been carried out thru ebay, it doesnt even apply to other online businesses that take paypal as payment.
i hope in this case that its just a case of royal mail being a bit slow and that your stuff turns up soon.

You can always get the sellers contact details from ebay (look in the help section for how to do this) they might have a phone number for him

They seem to be going for much less on ebay now...think I might have to start bidding...

It's Saturday which isn't a good day for ebay sellers - items tend to sell for much less on Saturdays than any other day of the week. If the ebay route is being considered then it'll definately be worth having a look when x factor is on tonight!

Glad to hear you had good service from
blah, a lot of us had terrible experiences with them yesterday and I honestly wouldn't touch them with a bargepole now :(
Please remember to thank fellow MSE'rs
  • I've been F5'ing tesco.com all week as it stated that they were expecting more stock at the end of November. Now that has been taken off, so it looks like they probably won't be getting anymore stock. I also noticed instore this morning that the SEL's had been taken off as well, so not looking too hopeful
