  • You can get Zhu Zhu Pets at $8 from Amazon.com if you get them when they are in stock by Amazon.com and not third party sellers which are very expensive. An $8 Zhu Zhu Pet Hamster from Amazon in-stock, sells for $50 or higher from some of the Amazon 3rd party sellers.

And you don't have to torture yourself by gluing yourself in front of the computer waiting for the moment to come. I use the alarm from this tool which lets you monitor the moment it becomes available online on Amazon.com's stock. It works much better than the email notification programs that email you once an item is in stock - by the time you get the email and check on Amazon, the item is sold out again. With this tool, you monitor an item on Amazon in real-time, and as soon as Amazon restocks the item, you get an alarm. Then you jump in and scoop up the item (at Amazon's retail price) before they sell out again. Kind of like jumping to the front of the line. It has worked really well for me.

    Check it out at

    watchmyitems.com

See the tutorials at the web site to learn how it works. Takes about 5 minutes to figure it out, very easy. You'll need to know the Amazon ID number (ASIN) which you can always find on a product page under the "Product Details" section.

Here's the tool with a monitor watch setup for "Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Mr. Squiggles - Light Brown"

    watchmyitems.com?item=B002BHDXY0

Give it a try, I can buy my kids a few Zhu Zhu Pets at the retail price of $8 instead of just 1 for $50+! Just refresh the page if the item is not coming up the first time around.

Bit harsh .. under ordinary circumstances the stock would have been listed and they did try. I cannot share numbers which were given to me in confidence, but the exaggerated load on their server caused by people F5ing exceeded the server design and load by MORE than a factor of 10.

Plie another 10 cars on the roof of yours and see how fast you can drive then with that extra load.

They were trying to load and that was inhibited by that factor.

At the same time, Toys R Us bucked under the strain ... and Toys r Us have much bigger resources than Character Online's website.

They obviously took a considered view that it would not nmake sense to complete the listing when everyone was watching and would pile in.

I work as an affiliate for myself and just talk with Character sometimes several times a day .. but maybe get a little more access than most customers. MaxiMouse essentially approaches the retailers with the same inquisitive nature.

And I am a HE rather than a she :rotfl:but an easy assumption to get wrong from the screenname.

Oh, I think i've said 'she' before as well...oops :rotfl:

But just in case anyone is wondering, I'm just a Nurse and nothing to do with any retailer - I wish...X

The stock checker is actually very good it has helped me alot. There is stock avaliable in Argos but stock checker cannot check each individual store. Some stores somewhere will have stock otherwise it wouldn't be listed obviously your local one doesn't. Try checking when the store closes in case someone has reserved something but hasn't managed to go and pick it up it seems a few people have managed to do that on here hth.
