obviously I am mistaken.
Also won't you end up paying P&P anyway unless MM is going to post for free?
I agree with Bestpud that while Maximouse has been helpful it has somewhat fuelled the hype and frenzy element - it does look suspicious - however I am sure these suspicions are misplaced as you say and she has all good intentions
Maximouse - hope you get better soon and enjoy your hamsters
Thank you but I'm getting upset by all this now. All I've done is try to help people.
I'm not selling to another member, I got it for them as they either couldn't get it themselves because they weren't going to be in, or they couldn't pay the high postage price for an item worth 4.99, so I got it as part of my order for them. So they are just giving me the money for the item I got for them and I'm sure royal mail even at 1st class, will be a lot cheaper than the standard price from some of the internet businesses. I'm not making anything out of it.
Will those who are cynical, please stop having a go at me now. Thank you.:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -

Sorry - I wasn't meaning to offend and upset I genuinely didn't think the practice of buying something and exchanging details via PM to sell on MSE was allowed - security reasons and all that
After all we could be anybody on here0 -

The stock has been selling out for a long time .... August these went on sale.
In the last week they were place on the Toy Retailers Dream 12 for Christmas and that has sent a lot more parents looking for the must have toys ... you could say that the Toy Retailers help create their own demand.
On a separate note, I am absolutely gobsmacked to see that people are actually reserving via Argos and then trying to eBay the reservation numbers on their own ... not the products ... Is that a new low?0 -
Toys r us - Poole, Dorset
Had several hamster add on sets in store tonight (2/11/2009)
Wheel, Spiral Slide, Car, House.
No balls, and appeared to only have chunk (white) hamster.
But a good stock of the above.
Right by the entrance on the left hand side.
HTH someone in Dorset!:beer:0 -

:rotfl:Obviously the Toy Retailers help to create their own demand - that is what they do to sell the toys.
I saw them on Play and pre-ordered back in Sept so I am aware of the stock difficulties.
I was just commenting on the practice of buing and selling on here (which I thought was against forum rules) - I've seen people's posts deleted in the past and also agreed that adding to the frenzy was not that helpful and posting a lot about a specific company looks suspicious in my opinion - just my opinion.
On the separate note - yes - why are people reserving items they don't want in Argos and offering them on this thread (haven't seen this before)
Why not leave the item for somebody that actually wants it?!0 -
Thank you MM for all your hardwork. :ARise above all the cynics:rolleyes:0

:eek::eek: You are kidding? That is shocking! I reserved the last house at an argos store near me for any fellow MSE's if they needed the number. Turns out that a friend of a friend is looking for the house so she now has the reservation number. Would never dream of selling the number on ebay! The prices of some of the items on ebay are unreal. I'm glad I got all my bits and bobs but IMO if I could only get the hamsters, I'd give my daughter the money on xmas day to go out and buy the add ons etc when they became more readily available. Wouldn't line the pockets of some scrooge at xmas:rolleyes: Bah humbug to those who are only in it for a profit!0 -

But you will have prevented somebody else from buying it for their child if you have reserved it and are not going to pay for it

MM you shouldn't have to explain yourself - you have helped others and if it wasn't for this thread then I would not have had a clue where to get them other than TRU or Argos. I don't drive and it's an over an hour bus journey to the nearest TRU so not as if I could go in every couple of days. I only had a hamster and ball now I have the set so thank you:T0
