Ebay item won a week ago but not received - seller won't reply to emails!

I bought an item from ebay last Saturday (13th) and paid for it through Paypal. The item should have been sent by 1st class post but I haven't received it. I contacted the seller by email twice (hotmail address) but they haven't responded. I obtained their telephone number from ebay and rang it but I got an unobtainable tone. The seller is a new member with no feedback and I think I've been ripped off! Can anyone please advise if I will be able to get a full refund from Paypal? Any advice would be appreciated.

I would wait until the mornings post and if still no sign, then report them to ebay 1/ non-performing seller 2/ having incorrect contact detls. Also make a paypal claim - the seller has to prove to paypal that the goods have been sent, so if they haven't then paypal will go in your favour - if they have been sent, you will need to wait for 15 clear days from the date it was posted and request that the seller makes a claim with RM. Hope it wasn't a large amount, I know we all started with zero fb on ebay, but I'm still a little wary of zeros when buying. hope you get it sorted. x0

I would try and open a dispute as soon as possible then even if the goods show up you can just cancel the dispute, some sellers are very slow at sending goods out and sometimes they need a push in the right direction.
When I sell stuff on ebay I send it out once payment clears as it saves any hassle and it completes the sale nice and quick0 -
Thanks for your reply. I was hesitant to bid when I saw the feedback score but had the same thoughts as you and took a gamble. How do I go about reporting the seller to ebay?julieblake wrote:I would wait until the mornings post and if still no sign, then report them to ebay 1/ non-performing seller 2/ having incorrect contact detls. Thanks I will open a dispute with Paypal tomorrow. My concerns are that the telephone number they gave was incorrect and that they haven't replied to my emails.slowen wrote:I would try and open a dispute as soon as possible then even if the goods show up you can just cancel the dispute, some sellers are very slow at sending goods out and sometimes they need a push in the right direction.

Start an NPB ASAP as you can always cancel it when your goods arrive and when you are satisfied with them.
Get your money back as a priority (or at least get the goods) and then worry about reporting the seller.
However, one thing i would say is that a week is not that unusual to wait for your goods, a newbie might even be waiting for the money to hit his bank account or something and not noticing your mails in his junk folder. There are also problems with Hotmail and over and over again on the ebay forums and unmoderated lists people complain that their buyers/sellers can't get through with certain ISPs to a Hotmail address.
