                                  in Credit cards

Had a Sainsburys credit card and paid it off in full and closed it back in May (there's still a £9.71 surplas on it as they apparently didn't know what the interest would be when I closed it) as they refused to give me a replacement card (after telling me on the phone that it was on it's way and 2 weeks later, I phoned asking where it was and was told to get lost).
Yesterday, got a fancy statement through the post from Sainsbury for the credit card. Says my limit before the account was closed, £0 owed and a min payment of £0 to be made by 26th Oct.
Any ideas why they've decided 5 months later to send me a statement out of the blue? My credit report says "settled" and I've still got the letter sent to me confirming the closure of the account.

They've sent the statement because there is a credit balance. If you call them, they'll be able to return the credit balance which will set the account balance to zero.0

            But why after 5 months?0

If an account has any sort of balance they have to send a statement every 6 months.0
