Tax rebate letter?

The procedure is.
1. P60 / P45 details entered on the computer system and returned to the taxpayer.
2. Calculation done and P800 (or could be R800, I can't remember) sent to the taxpayer.
3. Cheque follows once any security checks are done.
The letter that goes back with the P60 doesn't mention any refund to follow because at that stage its not been determined if there is a refund.
Its a stupid system I agree, you would think they could get an AA to stick the figures on the system, and then send out the calc and P60's in one go. and then the cheque to follow.
The only good thing is, if you receive a P60 back then you know its being processed and any refund will be along soon. He's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0 -

I think the absense of any figures is just in case the AO has made an error meaning the figures could be wrong. Many people would be a little bit annoyed if one letter said they were going to geta refund of £xxx only to get another letter a week later saying "sorry, we were wrong, you get nothing".0
