Does anyone know of a nice, cosy pub that does good food and is in or near Windermere?
Meeting a friend in Windermere next Thursday and she hates to leave her pooch behind in the car.

Hi there,
I went about a year ago and there is a pub about a ten minute drive if that from Windermere, it's called Wainwrights, they had a lovely log fire and home made food, which was delicious. They had some lovely little dogs in there and it's an excellent retreat from the blistering cold!! Hope I have helped...first post haha x0 -
We stayed up near the Kirkstone Pass(just above Windermere) , there was a pub called the Kirkstone Pass Inn, its the 2nd highest pub in the UK I think and its dog friendly.
Its was also on "Britains most haunted too"(TV programme)...... worth a visit...0 -
The Watermill at Ings. Not too far away. Very nice food.0

From experience, many of the independent pubs are child/animal friendly. Especially if they have a separate dining area.0

There is one right next to Lake Windermere. If you go down to the Lake and turn left and walk along the lake side. I think it is called The Ship Inn.0
