I'll miss the people and the fact that I'm the good boss plus I have had some fun times, but I won't miss the company!

  • I've just lined up a temp job starting Monday (2 weeks work). :j
I have been unemployed for about the last 7 weeks. I'll be getting my visa (that lets me work in Ireland) renewed soon so should be able to find something longer term then.

Good luck with your new job too. :T
  • I just want to clarify that I *can* work here right now, it's just the visa's due to run out mid-November so no companies would want to take me on longer term until it is renewed. I'm going to get it renewed on the 1/11.
  • Feeling a bit blue tonight

Ok allow me an indulgance here my fellow regulars ?

Just been on a little trip out to uni-bed sit land here in rainy ol' Stoke
    Why ?
A friend of mine is after a cheapo laptop for her Dad and she saw an advert for one at £500 / 12 month old, so I went along with her to give it the one over.
Turns out it s a student who's split from here b/f, got hopelessly in debt by not asking for help earlier on and is selling all her text books, laptop and stuff to pay off her landlord and get enough for a train ticket home....
Obv she's also jacking her uni course in, and from what I can gather going home to live with her mum and step dad, work in Tesco's to pay her debts off and maybe in a few years try and go back to uni....

Thing is she seems such a nice person who circumstance have gotten the better of....
Prolly more to it than that, but I dunno, even tho my friend gave her £500 for the laptop ( I'm glad she didnt haggle) just feeling a little blue tonight, that somebodies dream has gone horribly wrong ......

I presume he means Saturday and Sunday, as you've put your change-over info in the "Afternoon Tea" thread, but not here.

Congrats - good luck, and all the best wishes in the world for tomorrow.

Such a shame that she's ended up in that situation..... I hope her parents a re really supportive and she gets back to uni soon. Did she mention how much debt she was at all?

No she didnt, but I guess it was a lot for her to jack in uni and sell up pretty much everything she has up here ......
