This is your diary thread - you can't be off..!

If you're using IE. (from memory, because I'm not)

Select the picture you want. Right click on it and select properties. Go to the part that says image location. Using your mouse select everything in this field, then right click and select "copy".

Come back to mse, compose your message, click insertimage.gif then paste the URL into it.

    Easy?

  • Hi,

With regard to the painting, I think acrylic paint is the easiest. It dries quickly, is fairly inexpensive, you have a wide range of colours, and you can build up layers of paint.

A lot of paintings with raised areas of paint would probably be oil paintings. Oil painting is more complex though, and oil paintings can actually take 6 months to dry (although there are quick dry versions of oil paint now).

A canvas would be suitable for acrylic or oil paint. If you're going to do a water colour painting you'd need water colour paper. Cartridge paper isn't good for it because it buckles when it gets wet.

Also a canvas should be prepainted in white paint before you begin (most already are).

You may already know all that, but I figured I'd mention it anyway. I sometimes paint although not that much anymore. I have a half finished painting upstairs (of a unicorn).

    Hope it turns out well,

    tammy

    ah ha!

Thanks for the paint advice. It's gonna be a pretty abstract number that I'm doing but I dont want to end up having wasted the canvas, so lots of practice for me!

    Have a good day all......
P.S The BF phoned, sucking up, told him I was off to bed :)
