Selling Car Scam

My brother, both times that he has used Autotrader has been plagued by canvassers calling offering to sell the car. The whole whole Autotrader publication must be scoured every week by these people.

Same thing happened to me recently when i was selling my car. I rang Autotrader to complain, but unfortunately there is very little they can do. The lady I spoke to did say that they had attempted to take legal action, but it wasn't successful, 'cos these companies are not strictly breaking the law. What really got on my nerves was the way these people open the conversation - 'Is the car still for sale? What condition is it in' etc. They came across as genuine buyers in most cases, for the first 5 minutes at least!!
