    I did it in the slow cooker....:confused: don't normally have a problem but I used a whole bottle of red wine...

    Just say 'Really sorry but I'm having to go and support a friend who is having a bit of a crisis (well, we may run out of wine or something....), feel guilty about not being able to spend the evening with you, perhaps we could arrange for you to come down again soon?'. :)
