Hello
I'm considering changing my suppliers (I've become a bit of a cashback tart...).
I'm with the usual suspects, BG for gas and EDF for electricity. Never had a problem, except when my neighbour switched my gas meter to EDF , but they sorted it out quickly, to my surprise.
In a nutshell I would like to know if there are any suppliers who have a good reputation for their customer service, reliability of billing/payments etc.
Thank you.

Most people expect things to just work, and why shouldn't they, so if a distributor does their job well it's not often their good service is mentioned on this site, however the poor service distributors fill page after page. "switchwithwhich" service ratings seem reasonably reliable and personally I would not touch Scot Power or N'power with a barge pole. I reckon that you've probably got it right with your present suppliers, (subject to your useage), but worth a check that you are on their best tariffs. If you do switch, when you are asked to give your meter readings to the new supplier, make sure you confirm it in writing with a copy to your old supplier and on the Gas Account letter include the type of Gas meter you have - ie METRIC or IMPERIAL0

If you are a cashback tart (your words), then surely the idea is to maximise the cashback.
Why do you care what their customer service, reliability of billing/payments etc. is? Surely the idea is to go for the biggest cashback (with no tie ins)? Afterall, you'll be switching again asap to get more cashback won't you?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I thought you had to have a one-year contract?
Anyway I don't have time to keep switching everything. Both myself and my partner work long hours and we don't want any hassle.
I am currently not working I am taking the opportunity to look at all of our contracts/services, so far I've switched mobile, TV, home phone, broadband and I'm now looking at bank accounts and utilities. Then if a have time I will look at credit cards as well.
Being hassle free is a very high priority for me, I don't want to end up with the cheapest service costing me money because I need to take time off work to get it sorted..... would not be very MS. (This is why I've not gone for 3 for my mobile and Talk Talk for my broadband/phone).0
