Write back - reiterate your complaint, get a final response and then take to FOS if they do not uphold it.
  • Hi Strawberry,

Ask them for the evidence that you did? worth a try perhaps.

    Good luck

    Hi there

I agree with the above posts, if this was not the final response, write back, ask them to reconsider, because despite ticking the box, you still strongly believe you were mis sold the PPI, with the reasons you have already given them on your original letter, then go to the FOS, if they do not change their decision.

What you received is a standard response, keep at them, good luck.;)

  • Yes they sent a copy with my tick, but they did not ask any medical back ground, however they have wrote

"You received the full policy document, which included full terms and conditions and policy summary prior to the conclusion of contract. This contains a full list of exclusions and outlines the cost of this policy.

You received a 30 day cooling off period in which you could cancel the policy free of charge."

    GRR How stupid am I!

This again is a standard response, do not worry and keep up with it, they do tend to send the copies of these, in hope as well that you will not do anything else about it, but please do, you have your reasons and keep to them.
It was probably crossed or ticked by them anyway, and despite that if you have medical conditions at the time of taking this out, this would be worthless to you.

Remember if they do not change their decision on this, you do have the FOS, who will consider this for you. You are not stupid hun, we have all been there and I used to think that the PPI was all part of the loan, so thought if we did cancel, that would mean paying back the loan as well, you know what I mean.;)

    Thanks for your help

    Your welcome.;)

I think there are a few template letters in the link of reclaiming PPI here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Think there may be a stage 2 letter, but if you can write in your own words, and use the template as a guide.

However, you could just write something like this, just to keep it simple.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    ACC No:

Thank you for your letter dated XX/XX/XXXX.

I do not agree with your decision, and am requesting that you reconsider my complaint, I sent my letter dated XX/XX/XXXX to you and given my reasons for my complaint.

Despite me receiving the copy of my agreement where you confirm that I ticked for the policy, I still believe that this policy was mis sold to me.

You failed to ask me about medical conditions, and was not told of the exclusions, where this is worthless to me, and I have been deprived of my money.
Also please refer back to my first letter dated XX/XX/XXXX.

I ask that you reconsider my complaint and respond by fourteen days of my letter.
If you do not uphold in my favour, I will take this complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service to investigate this for me, with copies of evidence I have to support my case.

    Yours sincerely

  • Thats super di,

I would consider modifying the "where you confirm that I ticked for the policy" to "where you confirm that I allegedly ticked for the policy"

With pleasure.;) I just wrote it as simple as possible.

And yes that would be better if Strawberry Jam were to write that with what you have wrote, and change anything that for their own requirements.
    Well done oldnthrifty .:TGood thinking.
Post as well by recorded delivery........Strawberry Jam.
