Motorway services, car broken down, parking ticket help

The appeal is used only to attempt to get you to contract. For this reason alone I would deprecate appealing.0

Hi, thanks for your replies. I read many threads but then 2 questions remain:
1 - Martin Lewis says on moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets: "Of course, landowners have a right to charge for and police proper parking. If you’ve broken those rules, and you think the ticket isn’t exorbitant, I’d urge you to pay up." I I was the driver and the pictures clearly show my car and the time, I think they have a right to charge me according to Martin.
2 - Coupon Mad, What makes you say they will not win? At the end of the day, I haven't respected a "contract" clearly dispayed at the entrance. "You owe them nothing and they will NOT take you to Court because they would not win. The charge is not a real fine and is unenforceable in law (companies like this know it)."
Thanks all,
Sam0 -

Even if you have broken the contract the only money they can claim from you is the actual material loss that has been suffered by the land-owner. It is illegal in English law to impose a penalty that bears no relation to the actual loss involved. As this was a free car-park then no loss was suffered by the land-owner. End of story. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Well, the 2nd threatening letter has now arrived. 'Final notice'. Lots of red writing all over it. Threatening that our credit rating will be affected etc etc.0

Load of crap.
CP Plus haunt service stations throughout the country. Powerless scamsters.
Carry on ignoring their junkmail!1 - Martin Lewis says on moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets: "Of course, landowners have a right to charge for and police proper parking. In other words, if you want to give away your money, that's up to you. If you think the charge is fair (and you are a mug), you can of course pay. I could put a £10 tip on my next telephone bill because they're such nice people, but who would do that?
Anyway, this is all by the by. CP Plus just sit in an office sending out letters everyday. Even if you pleaded for them to take you to court they just wouldn't.0 -

Yet another letter. This one threatening solicitors and court action.0

That will look nice next to the others
In another few weeks you will have a "full set" & it won't have cost you a penny
Maybe get them framed & hang them on the wall?Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

Don't worry one little bit about their threats.
Lots of us on here have similar letters from PPCs (some people deliberately set out to collect more, just for fun and to cost the PPC some money...).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
