Size limit for Airmail?

I have a large item (backpack) packed size approx 55x45 cm.
Just wanted to confirm if this exceeds any size limit for Airmail.
Do the same limits apply to surface mail as well?

I would be careful about using surface mail if selling on Ebay as it can take so long to arrive that people can only a paypal claim and have it found in their favour before its even close to arriving.0

I agree, never use surface mail if paypal is involved.
