Kitchen Ovens - Gas vs Electric

We are in the process of planning our new kitchen which will be installed in the next couple of months. Currently we have a built in gas oven, however most of the ovens on the market are electric and are cheaper to buy than few gas ovens that seem to be available. I just wonder though how much more expensive an electric cooker is to run than a gas cooker - has anyone noticed an increase in their fuel bills following a similar switch?

I had an electric oven & hob in my last home before I had a new kitchen fitted. I certainly found my electricity bills more expensive.

The trouble with cooking with electricity is that unlike gas, you have to get the timing right & turn the cooker off before the food has cooked. This was an art I never managed having been a gas user most of my adult life.

In this house I have a duel fuel , gas hob & electric fan oven. Quicker than a conventional electric oven so works out cheaper, but the process is the same in needing to turn off the oven before the food has fully cooked to make it more cost effective.

Gas is so much more user friendly, it's instantly controllable & far more economical.

I think you'll find that any money you save on buying electric appliances versus gas is that any savings you appear to make will soon be swallowed up in high electricity bills
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
