What's that English saying? Cutting your nose off despite your face? I don't know, it doesn't make any sense to me. But I think that's the phrase I want.
Cutting your nose off to spite your face. I get the point though. :beer:Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -

Pretty much sums up this thread.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
It does rather sum things up.
It seems some refuse to see how this new charging structure can benefit them even when it's explained.0 -
I'm going to have an accident with you 2 in a minute, you're like a couple of old women!!, I've given up, you win!!!!!!!!!
Although I will be moving elsewhere, as I am not eligible for the £5 reward, so any Overdraft costs will have to be paid by myself.
I'm moving on..............................get over it!

In keeping with the proverbs:

Oh how i'd love to be as wonderful as some of you guys on here.
It is clear those of you that don't have an overdraft don't understand how hard it is to get out of the situation. I took it in an emergency situation and have been unable to claw my way out since. I actually asked for a creit card and they advised that an overdraft would be better. A decision i now regret. I would love to not have an overdraft, but I have one and now i'm less able to pay it off as I will be charged £20 a month extra for it. I am trying to get my finances in order and this will now hold me back even further.
If I could pay it off I would tell Halifax to shove there bank up there a**e, they have only ever treated my wife and i as second class citizens.0 -

I do have an overdraft, which I am currently in the process of paying off. Anyways, that is neither here nor there, if you had bothered to read the thread - instead of the last few comments/ pages - you will note that my replies and others are aimed quite squarely at those who use their overdraft as a buffer, which they can easily repay.I actually asked for a creit card and they advised that an overdraft would be better. Well there are plenty of suggestions on this thread, and on the below guide that may be of some help:-

I would offer further help, but seeing as you have the preconception that many others do (mainly down to not actually reading my replies), you probably feel my main purpose is to "smugly judge those less fortunate than me". So I'm not going to waste my time.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong.
