Cancelling credit cards..

I've got 2, almost 3 credit cards i need to cancel but can never find any details on their sites or bills on what to do, numbers to phone or addresses to write to.

Can people add the details for each card on how to cancel.

Preferably starting with MBNA and Egg please

Send Egg a secure message.
They will probably tell you to destroy the card yourself (some companies make you send them back).

I phone whatever free number I can find, even if it's the one for applications and ask for the relevant department. They'll either transfer you (costs you nothing for the call) or give you the right number (nothing lost). Expect however to run the gauntlet and stick to your guns to close the account, they'll want to transfer you to a specialist "loyalty team" or similar who will try to entice you into staying with them. Be strong!
