Hey all
I return from holidays (New Zealand, but I'm flying in from Dubai as have 1 day stopover there) on 6th Jan 2010 and am looking to get back from Gatwick airport to Swansea. My flight lands at 06.35.So I 'm looking at leaving Gatwick round half9/10am.
I have so far found train ticket for total £43.90 which is Gatwick > Reading (£14.90) then Reading > Swansea (£29). This journey takes around 5hours, which includes almost 1hour wait at Reading station.
Or there is National Express coach which is direct but takes 5 and half hours. Total is £46.50, but there is a 10% off code which knocks it down to £41.85.
Does anyone have another other suggestions? Or can anyone find a cheaper ticket for me? Are there any train ticket promo codes? (It's First Great Western)
I'm swaying towards coach, as I can attempt to sleep all way through! And i know that sometimes Nat Express let you get on earlier bus if they aren't full.
TIA

First Great Western haven't released their Advance Single tickets beyond 01 Jan yet.
But using as an example, 16 December, also a Wednesday, an Advance Single leaving Gatwick at 11:03, arriving at Swansea at 15:43, Advance Single = £11.70.
Still spending 50mins at Reading tho.
So maybe wait a week or two..
Also probably a price increase due at begining of Jan.0 -

.
Ah I wondered why the ticket was so expensive! My journey up is Dec 17th and I had it for £11.70, so I'll wait few days longer
Cheers
