hi
I have just got an apple macBook pro :-) and want to go wireless. In the past I was advised to get an airport extreme base station which i got for my ibook. However I never managed to figure it out so sold it.
I have an airport extreme card fitted into the laptop and use a adsl connection (USB) for my pc. The modem i have is a voyager 105 which isnt compatible with a wireless network.
What do I need to buy? I need a new modem anyway so can i just buy a unit that is a modem and acts as a base unit for my laptop?
I have already looked at the wireless forum but I know macs aren't compatible with everything so Im struggling.
Many thanks Laura

Get a wireless asdl router with a built in modem. D-link ones are good. We have the G604T and my sister connects on her mac no problem.0

I have a desktop PC, and 2 laptops, one of which is a macbook pro.
I bought a Linksys WAG354.. wireless adsl router. This sits near the desktop, which connects directly to one of the 4 ports on the back of the router.
The wireless connection to mac and windows laptop is entirely seamles and took no setting up whatsoever.
PCWorld doing the router, with a PC card included for £49.99 at the moment.0 -
now you have a mac talking to the wireless router, how easy is it to share documents and files across the network?"See you on the Other Side"0

Shouldn't be that difficult, just activate file sharing on your Win XP PCs and you could access the shared folder via SMB protocol ..
