Kings Cross to Heathrow T3

We are considering travelling down to Heathrow by train rather than driving and parking. We have been quoted train fares of £46 ish return for 2 adults and a child from Skegness to Kings Cross, which I think is far cheaper than driving. Our only concern/query is once at kings cross, which is the best way to get to Heathrow?? We know we could get on the picadilly line and it would take us straight there, however are we mad risking the underground at 17.15 on a wednesday eve with suitcases and child in tow???
Any input appreciated

To be honest you are. It will take an hour and the tube goes through some big old interchanges before you get to Heathrow.
I think you shoudl aim to get to KX for 1600 for the tube accross as yoru only other option is the HX from paddington but its very expensive.one of the famous 5

Thanks, we're getting there for 16 20 now and hoping to get to paddington to get HX. Have spoken HX people on phone today and if i buy tickets at ticket office I can use my family railcard and get a discount.:silenced:0

No, there is another option. Heathrow Connect from Paddington is cheaper then HX but does take 10 minutes longer.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -
You should also be able to get a discount on heathrow connect as well.0

Yes, the underground train you get between Kings Cross and Paddington won't be a small and claustrophobic tube train, it will be one of these, which is actually wider than any national rail train and as tall as them too. It is only about six stops / 10 minutes.0 -

I did the Circle line at 4pm on a weekday from Kings Cross with bags and it was in all honesty fine. I even got a seat past Baker Street.0 -
