How to cancel these credit cards?

Basically ive just decided to do a bank and credit card haul-out and realised i've got a few accounts and credit cards going unused, but i really dont want to spend hours on the phone calling up and for them pleading for me to stay with them because of their 'GREAT OFFERS' lol

Because i know at the end of the day they will just end up telling me that i need to apply in writing to cancel the card/account, so was just wondering if anybody happened to have the cancellation address for:

1. Barclaycard Platinum Visa

2. Virgin Card

3. Alliance & Leicester

Writing letters would take you longer.

If you have no interest in 0% BTs and/or purchases for X months, say so. I doubt whether staff are going to plead with you in the current climate.

A phone call to customer services should be all that's required, but ask the lender to confirm closure to you in writing. Most do not ask you to return their cards. You're simply requested to cut them up.

Just start your call with "I'd like to cancel my card because I'm planning to leave the country..."

They'll be wanting to close the accounts pretty sharpish then!
