Seems fine to me, all depends on what you're planning on using it for though.

It's basically to be used for

internet access (so OH doesn't divorce me for having an affair with MSE!)
i.e. wireless browsing whilst sitting in the lounge with OH

    doing homework

    watching dvds

DD would play games on the CBBC website

and taking on hols to access internet, would I be able to access internet easily?

Is this the Tesco offer? Someone asked about this on another board. Said I thought it was a reasonable deal but they didn't mention the memory offer.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

    Yep it's got wireless networking.

    doing homework

Homework isn't usually too memory intensive so no problem there.
    watching dvds

Has a DVD player / burner
DD would play games on the CBBC website

    No problem there either

You'd do it wirelessly although would probably need to pay unless you can find a free WiFi provider where you are.

Thanks scheming gypsy, I think I'll keep it

Tharweb, this is the Tesco offer but don't think they offer the extra memory, I just copied the spec from the Acer website HERE

It's cheaper with Dell. I recently purchase an almost identical spec to that with 512mb ram and a 15" screen for £372 inc VAT & delivery which was about a week:j
