decided to change to ebico for both gas and electric HELP!!
Options
i am on a prepay meter with british gas at the moment, firstly i shouldnt get a bill from british gas now i am changing should i??
whats my next step? i have rang ebico and asked them what to do, they say they will sort it out. and to apply on the website.
i have searched back and believe i cant get any cashback from this supplier?
do i need to check whether im in a contract with british gas?? as i got the details changed (my ex was named on the gas not me, so when we split up i changed it to my name, under a year ago)
and anything else i may need to know before switching??

As you are on a pre-payment meter with BG, you shouldn't receive a bill from them.
This assumes you don't have any known arrears with BG (e.g. which you are paying off on the meter) - but if you do, I doubt BG will let to switch away until they are settled.
Also as you are on a Prepayment meter, I don't think you are tied in to BG. (i.e. no early cancellation charges - these tend to be for fixed/capped rates that you get on a credit meter)
Once you apply to switch online, ebico will take care of the switch for you and keep you informed.
First you'll get a letter confirming your application and your right to cancel.
Then you'll get a switch date. You may be asked to supply meter readings on the switch date.
Note that the correspondence will probably come from Scottish & Southern Energy who are the licenced supply partners for Ebico. Don't worry about that, just ensure that you are on the Equigas & Equipower tariffs"Now to trolling as a concept. .... it might be worth doing a comparison check looking at BG & other suppliers for the electricity, Ebico ARE Cheaper for gas but not often for the electricity.
It just depends on how much you are using,0 -

i use about 44kwh a week, so its about the same as british gas
but the gas hopefully should cost less then half0 -

I very much doubt it. As you have a prepayment meter, they are not extending any credit to you
If you want to be certain, give them a call and ask:
